Jay Langadinos’ life is ruined. And the person to blame, she says, is Dr. Patrick Toohey, a psychiatrist who prescribed Langadinos masculinizing hormones and later surgery that left her transgender-mutilated body in shambles.
Langadinos, an Aussie, first saw Toohey back in 2010. She visited him because she was struggling with gender dysphoria and the feeling that she was a “male” stuck inside a female’s body.
Langadinos’ endocrinologist referred her to Toohey, who upon her first visit diagnosed her with gender dysphoria and “found she was suitable for hormone therapy, in this case testosterone, which encourages the development of male secondary sexual characteristics.”
Two years later, Langadinos was well on her way to becoming a “man” with all the masculinizing hormones Toohey prescribed her. It was at this time that she decided to opt for a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy.
By November of that year, the then-22-year-old had both of her healthy breasts removed, along with her uterus. She had also completely destroyed her endocrine system. (Related: Alabama just banned the transgender grooming of children.)
Despite all this, Langadinos was still depressed and was actually worse off than she was prior – ya think? It turns out that mutilating one’s body does not produce happiness, though this is what Langadinos said she was told by Toohey starting in 2010.
Upon realizing that she had made a huge, irreversible mistake, Langadinos sought help from another psychiatrist. It took until 2020 for her to stop the hormones entirely, as well as to stop identifying as a “man” – but her “transition” was already complete.
Rather than take personal responsibility for her poor decisions, Langadinos is now blaming Toohey because she says he “failed to take the precautions” needed to warn her that cutting off her breasts and destroying her womb might not make her happy in the end.
Langadinos blames Toohey for the “loss of her breasts, uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries,” even though she is the one who made the decision to have them all removed in order to become her “true self.”
“Knowing I can’t have children is absolutely devastating,” Langadinos told the Australian media, acting as though she did not know that removing her reproductive organs would lead to an inability to reproduce.
Langadinos also now claims that she “has suffered and continues to suffer from injuries and disabilities” due to many years of taking masculinizing pharmaceuticals that absolutely devastated her body.
There are “complications from early menopause,” she says, as well as “impaired psychological functioning, an ongoing need for medical treatment, and diminished capacity for employment.”
According to Anna Kerr, a lawyer with the Feminist Legal Clinic of New South Wales, Langadinos’ case is “likely to be the tip of the iceberg” with many more such cases arising in the future.
“If that happens, the medical cottage industry that has sprung up to meet the exploding demand for ‘sex changes’ in young people may find themselves under siege – and each time one of these cases makes the news, the chilling effect on those seeking transition and those willing to facilitate transition is likely to grow,” writes Jonathon Van Maren for LifeSiteNews.
In the comment section, someone added that it is hard to see how the doctor is at fault in such cases as the patient is ultimately the one making the medical decisions.
“Doctors have been silenced and forbidden from treating ‘gender dysphoria’ with therapy, as patients have demanded that the medical establishment indulge them in their delusions,” this person correctly wrote.
